Day #151 @ Photography Project 365

This photo was taken on our first day out in London. It was raining (as usual) and we decided to visit the National Museum. The problem was that there are so many museums in London and everyone we asked pointed us to a different one. I had heard a lot about the Egyptian Collection in one of the museums and tried to find that one. Unfortunately, my instincts led me to the wrong one.

London was so crowded (as you can see in this photo here). There were lots of tourists when we were there. Compared to Germany, I have to say that the Metro system there is pretty outdated.

I can see why there aren't any smiles in the photo. And that ceiling doesn't look too safe either!

Yikes, the only times I've ever seen our LRT this packed is when my favorite hockey team (Oilers) is in the finals or there's a really big name concert. It looks rather scary to be underground with those conditions!

Glad you made it out of there safely. Enjoy your stay in London!

You'd definitely expect more from a metropolitan like London. The train system works but definitely not much more than that.

Can you rent bicycles while you're there? ;-)

There aren't many bicycles in London. I guess they prefer to huddle up in the train! :-)

I suppose with that many people and the traffic I wouldn't really want to ride a bike neither. I don't imagine that they have bike trails, do they?

I hope you're having a blast!
